Shadowban
A shadowban is a quiet suppression of your account's reach by Instagram or TikTok. Your posts still appear to existing followers but are hidden from the Explore page, hashtag results and the For You page. Shadowbans typically last 14–30 days and are not announced.

Shadowbans are triggered by pattern-matching - bot-like activity (rapid follows/unfollows), prohibited hashtag use, or sudden engagement spikes that don't match your account profile. The platforms rarely tell you it has happened.
The fastest way to detect a shadowban is the hashtag test: post with a niche hashtag of fewer than 50,000 uses, then check whether the post appears in that hashtag's recent feed from a logged-out browser within 30 minutes. If not, you're shadowbanned.
Recovery is automatic and time-based. Stop the triggering behaviour, post normal niche content, and the suppression typically lifts in 14–30 days. Buying followers from real-account providers does not trigger a shadowban; bot networks and instant 'blast' deliveries do.
